
The Missouri Aquaculture Council (MAC) was established by statute (275.450, 275.452, 275.454, 275.455) in August 1989 to administer the “Aquaculture Marketing Development Fund.”
The objectives of the Council are to:
- Promote the consumption of fish and fish products
- Increase the efficiency of aquaculture production through marketing
- Provide for research and education programs that benefit Missouri producers
- Cooperate with MoAA and other state, regional, and national organizations in promoting the general welfare of the industry in the state
- Implement the provisions of the enabling legislation as they relate to the production and marketing of fish and fish products
